There are no seven wonders of the

world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million.

We use curriculum approved by the Ministry of Education and age-specific materials to stimulate learning. Children are exposed to a wide variety of real-life experiences to reinforce theories learned, to produce a custom learning journey.

Our approach is a blend of Montessori and conventional academic methods, with elements of nature included where possible.

Our holistic curriculum has been thoughtfully designed and selected to guide the daily experiences at The Sunshine Academy.

A rich learning environment is developed in the classroom as children and teachers engage in meaningful conversations, stories, singing, creative activities and outdoor play that engage the whole child. Each day is specifically balanced to provide teacher and child-centered experiences and involves hands-on exploration.

Teachers are at the heart of the program and are selected for their educational background and experience in early childhood education. Teachers must have the ability to create a safe, nurturing atmosphere in the classroom. Continuous professional development is encouraged so that our teachers are up-to-date on child development and are part of creating a high-quality learning environment for young children.

Families are critical partners in children’s learning.

Every child's progress is continually monitored through daily observation and the use of regular assessments. The results are discussed with parents through Parent-Teacher-Meetings.

Progress is measured through regular assessments.

Assessment tools, both formal (tests) and informal (observation), monitor children’s growth and development and help guide instruction for each child.

Formal assessments are done at the middle and end of the year.

Informal assessments are done daily and monthly.

Children’s authentic work samples are continually collected as a visual record of each child’s ongoing progress.

We are working on our Sunshine-Portal that will allow parents to view their child's performance, timetable and other information. Latest news and events will be communicated via the portal, and parents are also able to send messages to us using the portal. Our portal can be accessed using your PC or via a special app download onto your smart phone.
